About us

The Bangladesh Embassy in Athens was opened on 31 July 2009. Since its inception the Embassy is extending assistance to the Bangladeshi expatriates living in Greece. A considerable number of Bangladeshi expatriates live in Greece most of whom are workers and small entrepreneurs. The Mission is providing consular and welfare services to the Bangladeshi expatriates. The Embassy is also closely involved with the community development and welfare issues.

Apart from that the Mission is maintaining contacts with Greek government as well as the Greek private sectors. One major thrust of the Mission is to facilitate the growth of commerce and trade between Bangladesh and Greece as well as to invite further Greek investment in different sectors in Bangladesh. The Mission also looks at expanding cultural exchanges between Bangladesh and Greece in order to establish more people to people contacts.

In the future, the Mission will continue to focus on identifying further areas of cooperation with the Greek government as well as to expand the base of our services and activities for the assistance and welfare of the Bangladesh community living in Greece.
